About Me
I have been passionate
about the African
continent, its natural
environment and wildlife since I was a child; photography naturally became my calling after numerous trips to Africa.
I have made it my mission to help people discover the world, nature and the beauty of the animal kingdom through my lens and the magazine ‘VISION’, which I founded.
As an introverted and highly sensitive person, writing and photography allow me to express who I am, how I see things, and life itself...
My desire is to tell the story of nature and what it whispers to us, but also to embrace it and experience it fully, for we are one with it; we are nature, we need it to live, and in our fast-paced lives, we all too often forget this...
My Work
My work explores the intimacy of the animal world through highly intense portraits; I seek to capture the raw moment, when the animal reveals itself in all its majesty and vulnerability.
I photograph animals exclusively in their natural habitat, whilst maintaining a respectful distance...
I do very little retouching to my photos because I want them to be as close to reality as possible; sometimes the unattractive becomes attractive. It all depends on how we look at things.
Location
I’m based in Porto, Portugal, but I often travel to the African continent to photograph wildlife, particularly in Ethiopia, my favourite country.
I also travel to other places where nature and animals reign supreme and are the sole masters of their domain...
